QEngine: Message Add-On Plugin Showcase

QEngine: Message Add-On Plugin

The video showcase of my upcoming RPG Maker MV Message Add-On plugin for the QEngine is online. Showcase Video The following video details the text codes available for the Message Add-On plugin, but not how to use them (that’s in the help file). Both the QEngine and Message Add-On plugins aren’t available yet, except for my valued beta-testers. What Is The QEngine? For those who don’t know, the QEngine is a core plugin I started writing (and continued writing on and off) for awhile now for RPG Maker MV. Its main purpose is to add extra functions to enable cross-compatibility and usability with most (if not all) of my plugins,…

QEngine: Message Add-On Showcase – Uploaded Later

QEngine: Message Add-On Plugin

A bit later today (if all goes well), I’m showcasing my Message Add-On plugin for RPG Maker MV on YouTube. This is one of the add-ons for the QEngine, on which it relies to function. You can add things like full name, gender and gender-based pronouns to messages; things that aren’t in other message plugins. The QEngine‘s scheduled release (including its current add-ons) for this month is deferred. However, some of my beta-testers found some bugs or have made suggestions, so I’m dealing with them first.

QEngine: Extra Message Codes Add-On Release Next Month

QEngine MV

QEngine MV As many of you may know by now, development on the QEngine for RPG Maker MV began some time ago. And it has continued on and off since then. Originally written for VX, its purpose was to incorporate all of my scripts from the former Scripts/Add-Ons Compendium. However, over time, I added several additional options, functions and features to it. And then, with its port-over to MV, came additional functions previously unavailable in its VX counterpart. Although, technically, it was possible to achieve this in RGSS2, I found it easier in JavaScript (because of my previous web design background). Once I started learning MV’s JavaScript architecture, I added…

Restructuring/Updating Scripts/Plugins Pages

Restructuring/Updating Scripts/Plugins Pages

I’m in the process of restructuring the way that files are downloaded from RPG Maker Times, particularly in the RMMV/JGSS section. This is in light of something that I completely overlooked and recently discovered. Previously, RMMV has been downloadable from Pastebin. However, due to the way that Pastebin saves the files this has been causing problems with the plugins. I’ll be removing Pastebin from the download options and providing alternative download files: Directly from RPG Maker Times and from Dropbox. These will be ZIP’d to include the Terms of Use for each plugin. Some plugins will also be downloadable from RPG Maker MV as well; these will link directly to…

Q-Engine v4.0a Updated

Q-Engine Logo - RMVX

The Q-Engine v4.0a has now been uploaded (a day earlier than expected). The add-ons will be added tomorrow onwards. Q-Engine v4.0a Video Showcase The following video showcases only some of the Q-Engine’s features.

Q-Engine v4.0a Release Date

Q-Engine Logo - RMVX

The Q-Engine version 4.0a (Alpha) will finally be released and uploaded on 10 March, 2015. The script and add-ons will be available exclusively on Pastebin, as will all other scripts from the middle of this month (this means that most of my scripts will no longer be self-hosted on this blogsite). The Q-Engine add-ons to be included are: The Game Over Add-On is not the animated version, as that is being reworked. The Character Add-On has been temporarily withdrawn. It’s currently being reworked with elements relevant to characters being extracted from the Status Screen Add-On. The former will then be adjusted accordingly to reflect whether the latter is installed or…

Q-Engine v5.0 In Progress – Improvements

The Q-Engine and its add-ons are undergoing some improvements. This is primarily to remove the dependency on the UCSM. Instead, the Q-Engine will contain the global settings required for the main scripts and the relevant configuration settings will be placed in the add-ons themselves. This will make it much easier to tweak rather than relying on a single configuration to set them. I’ll also be creating a downloadable demo (finally), which will enable you to install the Q-Engine and all of its available add-ons without having to copy and paste them individually. I’m making this a priority over the next few weeks to get this done as quickly as possible…

Q-Engine v4.0b + Add-Ons Released

The Q-Engine has been updated to version 4.0b, as well as the following add-ons (updated to version 2.0b):

Q-Engine: Progress Report

Work on the Q-Engine has been ongoing (on and off) and progress on its redevelopment is well underway, with several add-ons now complete. Version 4.0 is almost ready for release. Finished Add-Ons Add-Ons In Redevelopment Additional changes are to the Universal Configuration Settings Module (UCSM). Instead of consolidating all of the settings for all of my scripts, this will now only be used for global or system-wide settings, such as fonts and certain layouts. The settings for each script and add-on will now be included in a separate corresponding module for easier access. Once these are done, the entire Q-Engine section will be updated accordingly.

Updates: Scripts And General Updates

The Q-Engine is going through another overhaul to make things easier to update and add to. The reason is simply because it’s now so big that it’s becoming increasingly difficult to maintain. Here are the updates to the script and other general updates taking place:
