A Frustrated Roar from Tryggr!

Frustration! And a frustrated roar from Tryggr to match! Why So Frustrated? The best time management and pre-planning doesn’t factor the body’s needs for rest into the equation. The brain tends to ignore the alarm clock and makes you over-oversleep, especially on those precious days off. We all have to work to pay the bills and to make ends meet. Even for the simplest pleasures in life. Work often takes over our lives in order to fulfill the demands of living. This often leaves less time to dedicate specifically to game development. Lately especially, the frustration stems from seemingly not having enough personal time. Even if survival on a minimal…

New 2016 Layout for RPG Maker Times

RPG Maker Times Blog

Regular visitors will now see a completely different layout than the one I had in place for years! It was time for a change. I’ve been wanting to do this for quite some time, so finally decided to tackle it. Over the course of the next few days (notably on my days off) I’ll continue working on the layout to completion. This may be slower than I’d like because I’m also working on other projects too – it’s all about proper time management, not exactly my forte – but in the end it’ll be worth it. After its completion, I’m also going to be posting a lot more project progress….

My First Foray into RPG Maker MV

Well, I’ve had my first foray into RPG Maker MV. At this point, I’m not sure if I’m entirely ready to be converted (yet!). I’m more fluent in Javascript than Ruby, so once I wrap my head around how everything is structured in MV, I might be able to write some scripts. Unlike with VXA, however, where classes, modules, etc. are separated to make scripting easier, you’d be able to go into, say, Window_Base and edit (or alias) certain things directly. In MV, however, things are bundled together into several core JS files; some settings are scattered throughout. This makes it more difficult to find specific classes until and unless…

Update: 3D Resources Fun

As my foray into Daz3D and Bryce continues, I’m having a lot of fun creating 3D content and scenes. I realized that Daz3D has changed a lot since I last used it – I think version 2 or 3 (it’s now up to 4.6). I also recently acquired Bryce and Poser, although I’ve not really done anything with them yet. These aren’t particularly good, but I’ve added them here to give a rough idea of where I’m intending to go. Although Daz3D is easy to use, I’m still going through as many tutorials as I can. Getting the resources – whether charsets, portraits or battlers – just right can be…

“Fortune’s Tavern” – The Fantasy Tavern Simulator

Please help support Fortune’s Tavern Kickstarter Fund to help with development. Funded! Fortune’s Tavern is a real-time fantasy tavern-simulator, where you assume the role of Mathias Gambridge, owner of this notorious tavern. There is a plethora of unique features to boost your income and make life reasonably pleasant for your guests. Project Update: The Paranormality Trilogy

The Paranormality trilogy is a series of games for RPG Maker, loosely based on a set of unpublished short stories and novellas I wrote, actually inspired by some of my own experiences. The entire trilogy focuses around paranormal investigator Jack Urban. Alyssa, his sister, disappeared under mysterious circumstances, so his mission has become to find out exactly what happened to her. His quest for the truth will take him to the Other Side and back, pitting him against some of the most nefarious daemons in the Seven Realms. Portals revolves around the events leading up to her disappearance and is the prequel to Darkling for RMVX and Nexus for RMVXA…

The Gladiator Project Official New Blogsite & Updates

The Gladiator Project blogsite is now live, having been revamped in tandem with the redevelopment of the project. The site’s layout and design is still being worked on, but that will come in time. Most likely it’ll revert to a variation of its previous layout (from its previous host), but kept in line with WordPress standards. I’m currently working on a child theme prototype that might just work. Newly added pages Character Classes – Details about the various character classes used in the game. Glossary – A complete list of the Latinesque words used in the game, as well as on the blogsite. About TGP – A detailed history about…
