Windowskin Tool Plugin (RMMV)

The Windowskin Tool Plugin enables you to tweak certain windowskin settings, such as changing the default windowskin from within the Plugin Manager.

Also, RMMV has the same transparency problem with windowskins as RMVX did in that the windowskin colour (in the Database) overrides the windowskin graphic (which is a simple hack really).

There are only 2 parameters to set the windowskin you’d like to use and the windowskin opacity. The latter is to address a problem that may occur at times where the system window colour overrides the windowskin settings (you may still also have to tweak the window colours).

Windowskin Folder

Create a new folder called "windowskins" under "img/system". All windowskins go into this folder. This will also be available in the "Resource Manager" (MV v1.1) for you to import windowskins directly for use in your game.

You can use your old VX/VXA windowskins in MV. Just upscale them to 192×192 and import them into the windowskins folder.

Note: There is still a bug I haven’t fixed yet (but I will in a future update), where undefined (unknown or misnamed) windowskins will throw an error.

Plugin Commands

You can preset the default windowskin to your own, change the windowskin in-game and reset it to either the preset default or the system default.

In the event Plugin Command, use the following commands:

where is the name of the windowskin you want to change to.

To change the windowskin to default (as set in the "Default Windowskin" parameter, not MV’s default), use:

If you want to use MV’s default Window (for whatever reason), use:

This plugin was written shortly after I found that RMVX/VXA windowskins will work in RMMV if their size is changed to 192×192. I don’t like overriding the default windowskin in order to use new ones, so this also makes it easier to change the default windowskin without having to do that.
The plugin must be installed in RMMV’s Plugin Manager to run.
There shouldn’t be compatibility issues.
Download the .js file directly into the JS folder in your RMMV project.
Fix undefined error if a windowskin is misnamed or unavailable.
You are free to use this in non-commercial projects, but please refer to the RPG Maker Times blogsite for other details, including commercial use.

Credit "Companion Wulf" or "RPG Maker Times" if using this plugin in your projects.
