QEngine: Message Add-On Plugin Showcase

QEngine: Message Add-On Plugin

The video showcase of my upcoming RPG Maker MV Message Add-On plugin for the QEngine is online. Showcase Video The following video details the text codes available for the Message Add-On plugin, but not how to use them (that’s in the help file). Both the QEngine and Message Add-On plugins aren’t available yet, except for my valued beta-testers. What Is The QEngine? For those who don’t know, the QEngine is a core plugin I started writing (and continued writing on and off) for awhile now for RPG Maker MV. Its main purpose is to add extra functions to enable cross-compatibility and usability with most (if not all) of my plugins,…

QEngine: Message Add-On Showcase – Uploaded Later

QEngine: Message Add-On Plugin

A bit later today (if all goes well), I’m showcasing my Message Add-On plugin for RPG Maker MV on YouTube. This is one of the add-ons for the QEngine, on which it relies to function. You can add things like full name, gender and gender-based pronouns to messages; things that aren’t in other message plugins. The QEngine‘s scheduled release (including its current add-ons) for this month is deferred. However, some of my beta-testers found some bugs or have made suggestions, so I’m dealing with them first.

Message Codes Plugin Update 1.6

RPG Maker MV Plugins

For the Message Codes Plugin, as well as some tweaks and bug fixes, the following have been added: The main update is Text Alignment, where text can be aligned left, center and right. This is what I call “true form alignment” because it doesn’t have additional whitespace when centring. Note: It’s far from perfect, but it’s functional and roughly centers the text in the window, although I’m not sure how or if Yanfly’s Message plugin affects this, as I haven’t had a chance to test that. Other updates are: Number of Saved Games: Display the number of saved games you have. Plugin Parameters: Added some plugin parameters so you can…

Google+ Social Media Buttons Update

Social Media Buttons Plugin v1.7

The Social Media Buttons/In-Game Website Plugin is now at Version 1.7. (I should really shorten its title.) I added support for sharing your Google+ accounts. And also tweaked the buttons for dynamic positioning, depending on which ones you use. Future Updates Notes Although this plugin remains unfinished, most likely, there won’t be any further updates for awhile. From Version 2.0 (the final version), I expect no further updates. While it IS possible to add in the option to share an in-game screenshot and content from within RMMV, it’s not as easy as it may sound. This isn’t necessarily from a developer’s perspective, but from the end-user perspective. I don’t want…

Plugin Update: Social Media Buttons/In-Game Website Plugin (RMMV)

Social Media Buttons/In-Game Website Plugin

Version 1.6 of the Social Media Buttons/In-Game Website Plugin is available. What’s New? The Twitter button has more options for when visitors click on it – Screen Name and User ID – which go to the corresponding Twitter account. I also added a Follow option, enabling players to follow your Twitter account directly from within RMMV. Other Tweaks Instead of typing the full URL for Facebook, you now only need the page id/name. Buttons are now defined in a single array setting, rather than as separate settings for each button. Development Notes Although the focus has mainly been on Twitter, I’m still conducting experiments with the APIs of other social…

New Plugin: Randomize Title/Loading/Game Over Images Plugin (RMMV)

RPG Maker MV Plugins

The Randomize Title/Loading/Game Over Images Plugin displays random Title Screen, Game Over and Loading screen images. Origins This plugin originally comprised three separate plugins that merged into one, as it made more sense to do so. I originally wrote the Randomize Loading… Image plugin specifically for The Adventures of Tryggr. I scheduled the Randomize Title Screen Bg plugin for integration into my Title Screen Add-On plugin, but I decided last minute not to include it and wrote it as a separate plugin. The Randomize Game Over Bg plugin was first inspired by the Randomize Loading… Image plugin specifically for the multiple endings in Otherworld, where I tweaked it for the…

New Release: Extra Message Codes Plugin (RMMV)

Extra Message Codes Plugin (RMMV)

The Extra Message Codes plugin provides a few extra control characters for message windows. Origins This was originally created for Otherworld as part of the OW Engine, as I wanted certain functions that aren’t used in other message plugins. Because Otherworld requires some specific functions I added them to the OW Engine and decided to separate them and publicly release the resultant plugin. Most of the message systems (most notably Yanfly’s Message Core plugin) have some very useful functions. However, many are lacking certain features that may or may not be desired. This is not – and will not – be a replacement message system. If a feature is available…

Social Media Buttons/In-Game Website Plugin Tutorial (RMMV)

This tutorial demonstrates how to use my Social Media Buttons/In-Game Website plugin for RPG Maker MV. With the plugin you can place social media buttons (Twitter, Facebook and website) on the Title Screen. You can also call a website from within the game. These will open in a new game window or new tab in your default browser.

Terms of Use for Scripts/Plugins Updated

The Terms of Use for Scripts/Plugins has now been updated. All RPG Maker XP, VX and VX Ace scripts can now be used freely in both commercial and non-commercial projects with proper credit. RPG Maker MV plugins can be used in non-commercial projects only. However, a license granting non-exclusive use in commercial projects can be purchased for a small fee (to cover costs and distribution). Be sure to read the Terms of Use for each section and, if you have any questions or concerns, for now I can be contacted at RPG Maker MV until a proper system is in place on this blogsite.

New Plugin: Social Media Buttons/In-Game Website (RMMV)

Social Media Buttons/In-Game Website Plugin

With the Social Media Buttons/In-Game Website Plugin, you can display social media buttons (Twitter, Facebook and your project Website) on the Title Screen, each clickable to open the corresponding website in a new window. You can also use the plugin to send players to a website in-game via events with a simple Plugin Command.
